Accessibility

Last updated August 11, 2026

If any part of this site is difficult for you to use, please say so. Call (786) 203-9181 or email info@dmortgageguide.com and the information will be provided to you another way — by phone, by email, or in person.

Our commitment

Buying a home should be accessible to everyone, and that includes the website you use to learn about it. This site is built with the goal of being usable by people of all abilities, including those who rely on screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification, or reduced-motion settings.

Standard we aim for

This site targets conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. We consider the site partially conformant, meaning most of the standard is met while some areas are still being reviewed and improved.

What has been done

  • Semantic structure. Headings run in order and page regions are marked up so screen readers can navigate them predictably.
  • Keyboard access. Every interactive element — menus, program dropdowns, the FAQ, the calculator and the contact form — can be reached and operated without a mouse.
  • Visible focus. Focus outlines are preserved rather than removed, so keyboard users can always see where they are.
  • Skip link. A “skip to main content” link is the first item on every page.
  • Colour contrast. Body text is set well above the 4.5:1 minimum against its background, and colour is never the only way information is conveyed.
  • Labelled controls. Every form field has a visible label, errors appear next to the field they belong to, and errors are announced to screen readers.
  • Reduced motion. If your device is set to reduce motion, animations and scroll effects are disabled automatically.
  • Text sizing. Body text uses relative units and reflows without loss of content when enlarged.
  • Images. Meaningful images carry alternative text; decorative images are hidden from assistive technology.

Known limitations

Being straightforward about where work remains:

  • The mortgage calculator presents a proportional bar chart. The same figures appear as a plain text breakdown directly beneath it, so no information depends on the chart alone.
  • Third-party content, such as web fonts loaded from an outside service, is not under our direct control.
  • This site has not yet been through a formal third-party accessibility audit.

Assistive technology

The site is intended to work with current versions of common screen readers and browsers, including VoiceOver on macOS and iOS, NVDA and JAWS on Windows, and the current releases of Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge.

Tell us about a problem

Feedback is genuinely useful, and it is the fastest way for a barrier to get fixed. If you run into something that does not work for you, please get in touch. Describing the page and what happened helps, but it is not required — a phone call works just as well.

We aim to respond within two business days, and any information on this site can be provided to you in another format on request, at no cost.
